DEFENCE SERVICES BEAT ARMY. (Rec. 10.15.) LONDON. May 13- . In the season’s first big cricket match at Lords., the Civil Defence Services beat the Army by two wickets. A New Zealander, F. T. Badcock, bowled skilfully for two long spells for the Civil Defence team. Maurice Leyland saved the Army from a collapse. The scores were as follows: — Civil Defence, eight wickets for 215 runs (E. K. Scott, not out 91; L. S. Summers 27; L. G. .Fishlock 26.) M. NichqfN. took three wickets for 56 runs and G. O. Allen, two wickets for 29. Army, 214 (Leyland 64; Allen 22.) Badcock took three wickets for 65 runs and Summers three wickets for 41 runs.
