MAORI BOYS KILLED
FOUND DEAD WITH HEAD WOUNDS. P.A. WANGANUI, Mav 12. _ Three Maori boys were found dead with axe wounds in the head at a house at Putiki, a Wanganui suburb, late last night. A Maori woman admitted to hospital with an axe wound, on the head is believed to have been responsible. • . The victims were: Bobo Te Wiri, aged five, and his brother Rangi, aged seven, and Rukuwai, aged 11. Mrs. Alice Te Patu, aged 48, of Bell Block, Taranaki, is in hospital. The boys were nephe z ws of William Emia, who brought them to Wanganui two months ago, when their father died. Their mother had been a patient in Hamilton Hospital for the past six months. Mrs. Te Patu, a niece of Emia. has been under medical treatment at Wanganui, and came to the house a week ago. Mr. and Mrs, Emia were out for the evening leaving Mrs. Te Patu in charge of the boys who were in bed and were apparently killed in their sleep. The tragedy was discovered by Mrs. Emia shortly after' 11 o’clock.
