The Buller Progress League decided at its meeting last night to draw the attention of the Railways Department to the need for more hoppers to handle coal arriving in the port since the development of production in the Charleston and, Reefton areas. It was said that there was no. reason why hoppers coujd not be made and repaired in Westport, as in the past. A youth, J. Adams, broke his arm while playing football in Westport. On Thursday the Works Department employees engaged in the development of the new open cast coal section at Stockton ceased operations on account of alleged anomalies in the matter of their nay. Work was suspended for 36 hours, but was resumed to-day. . , Nominations s.o far received for the Borough Council are Messrs J. L. Wicks, and T. Norriss, and Mrs. G. Farrell.
