Opera House Finally to-night: “You'll Never Get • Rich.” Next attraction commences to-morrow (Friday): “Desperadoes” (in technicolour) and “All By Myself.” “DESPERADOES” One of the most magnificient dramas of the old West ever to thunder across the screen, Columbia’s “The Desperadoes” commences at the Onera House to-morrow (Friday), with Randolph Scott, Glenn Ford, Clair Trevor, 1 Evelyn Keyes and Edgar Buchanan. The film which is all 'the more compelling because it is taken from real life tells of brother pitted against brother, neighbour against neighbour, and the strange kinds of love that are born in lands where people are afraid to think and talk. It is the story of courageous and fearless young men and women who daily risk their lives to operate .the forbidden short wave radio that is the most potent weapon of the underground movement working to overthrow the stranglehold of the dictators. Jeffrey Lynn portrays an enthusiastic young Nazi soldier who is unaware that his brother, played by Philip Dorn, is a leader of the underground movement. Kaaren Verne and Mona Maris play important roles in the film.
