' Marshal Chiang Kai-shek, replying to a petition from foreign correspondent'' for permission to Visit the headquarters of the Eighth .Route Army (Communist) in Yennan, north-west China, said ' the Government would extend them a formal invitation “when the time comes.” The Minister of Information (Liang Han-shao), at a Press conference, said certain Press telegrams on the Communist question had been suppressed because their release was not in the national interest. He added: “Our relations , with the Communists must be regarded as a family .affair. The Government are the elder’ members of the family and the Communists the junior members. The elders are not keen on publicising disputes within this family.”
