CROONER’S HOPES

"FIND” BY CARY COOPER SYDNEY, December 24, Corporal Ernest Duval, of the Royal Australian Air Force, whose crooning attracted Mr. Gary Cooper, visiting American film star, when he heard him sing recently at Kiriwina Island, is a son of Mr. Henry Duval, of Campsie. Members of Duvals family said that they; had letters from'Corporal Duval recently in which he said he talked for two hours with Mr. Cooper about crooning and entertainment generally. Mr. Cooper had promised to tell Bing Crosby about Duval s work, and 8 to get Mr. Crosby to write to hl Duval knows nothing about music, and memorised while he was at home and stationed near Sydney with the R.A.A.F. by listening to the radio and gramophone records.
