GAOL FOR EXCESS PROFITS
INDIANS IN FIJI SENTENCED. (Rec. 11.55.) SUVA, Jan. 7. P. J. Patel, an Indian wholesale storekeeper was sentenced to six months’ imnrisonment and a fine of £4OO, in default a further six months’ imprisonment on a charge of selling textile piece goods at excessive prices. His excess nrofit was £7B. Another Indian, Tulsibhai. for a similar offence, was sentenced to three months 'imprisonment and .a fine of £3OO, in default three months’ imprisonment. The excess profits in this case were £l4O.
