WEDDING

DUNN—GILMORE. The wedding took place on Saturday at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, of'Elsie Jean, sixth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Gilmore, Guinness St., 'Greymouth, and Walter, third son of Mrs and the late Mr. J. Dunn, Clifford' Street, Blackball. Rev. E. S. Hoddinott officiated and Mr. Lester Roberts was organist. The church was decorated with poppies and lupins. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a close fitting gown of cream satin, with a long train on which was designed a lovers’ knot in pearls. The high neck-line also had a pearl finish. She wore a coronet and veil and carried a sheaf of white sweet peas and Christmas Lillies.

Mesdames R. Rae and J. Stone, who attended her as matrons of honour. wore mauve and lemon taffeta respectively; and the' bridesmaids, Misses Rena Moar and Vera Gilmore, wore green and pink taffeta respectively, cut on simple lines with heartshaped necks and tight-fighting bodices flaring to full skirts. All four attendants carried bouquets of mauve and pink sweet peas and maidenhair fern and wore short tulle veils surmounted by haloes. As the couple left the church, the bride was presented with a horseshoe by her neice, Lvnnette Lord. Mr. R. Rae' was best man and Messrs F. Gilmore, P. Bayley and M. Banks were groomsmen. At Herb Moore’s the guests were received by Mrs. Gilmore, who wore a navy costume, with accessories to tone and a white shoulder spray. She was assisted by Mrs. Dunn, who wore a navy ensemble and red spray. Among messages of congratulations was one from the bride’s brother, who is on service in the Middle East. When Mr. and Mrs. Dunn left by rail-car for Christchurch the bride was wearing a model frock, with a fawn coat and navy accessories.
