GROWING MORE VEGETABLES WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. Householders who grow more vegetables for their own consumption are not only exercising commonsense but are making an excellent worthwhile contribution towards final victory, stated the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Nash) to-day. He urged every citizen who had access to land to do everything in his power to supply his own family- with vegetables. Mr Nash referred to the warnings of food shortages in other countries especially during post-war periods, adding it was clear that vegetables growing in New Zealand would be a vital need for many years' to come and . everything should he done to produce to the limit.
