RELEASE OF MOSLEY
FURTHER DEMONSTRATIONS. LONDON, Nov. 29. On Sunday afternoon a crowd of 30,000 gathered in Trafalgar Square for a mass demonstration against the release of Mosley. An effigy of Mosley was hung from a mock gibbet mounted on a horsedrawn cart. Factory workers carried hundreds of banners and placards demanding Mosley’s re-internment. One poster bore a drawing of a large rat with the words “Battersea’s rat campaign—put this rat back in gaol.” A coffin bearing a swastika and me words “Mosley; here or Holloway — smash Fascism now” was placed on the points of the Nelson column. _ A crowd signed a petition demanding Moslem’s return to prison stating “his release wa's an insult to the men and women of the Fighting Services.” The petition will be taken to the Commons by Mr. Pritt, M.P., chairman of the demonstration. London’s was not only the Sunday demonstration against the release of the Mosleys. Others were held in several parts of Britain, including Bristol, where hundreds gave up the afternoon to attend a meeting which passed a resolution protesting against the release of “Britain’s No. 1 Fascist, Hitler’s friend and potential Quisling” and demanding an immediate reinternment. Speakers stated that 95 per cent, of Bristol’s labour movement was behind the protest and petitions would be presented to Parliament. ATTITUDE OF PARLIAMENT. LONDON, Nov. 29. In the unlikely event of a division the Government seems assured of a majority, when the Common debates Moslems release at the next sittings. Cabinet is fully behind Mr. Morrison, who ordered the release. MOSLEY BED-RIDDEN. (Rec. 10.40) LONDON, Nov. 29. Miss Ellen Wilkinson, Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Ministry of Security, in a speech, said: Sir O. Mosleyj is under a strict guard, even if he could get out of bed, which he could not.
