RAILWAY STRIKE
In South Australia OVER PORTER’S SUSPENSION. (Rec. 6.30.) ADELAIDE, Nov. 21. The manpower authorities have lifted a suspension on a railway porter The porter is alleged to have insulted the Governor-General, Lord Gowrie, on his arrival in Adelaide last Monday. Two thousand railway employees struck when the porter was suspended. The South Australian Railway Commissioner has appealed agains the decision of the Manpower authorities. The strike began on Friday. It is expected to end to-morrow. The strike stopped all passenger ana goods traffic in South Australia, and considerably disrupted war production.
