BRITAIN AND U.S.A.

DANGER OF DISUNITY COL KNOX’S WARNING (Rec. 9.40) WASHINGTON, Oct. 21. The Navy Secretary, Colonel Knox, in a broadcast, admonished those who are engendering a hard feeling between Britain and America. He asserted that Americans must stand together with the British. Otherwise the fabric of Christian civilisation would be torn to tatters. He said: “We have practically won the war. The only way to kick victory away is to promote disunity. Britishers from His Majesty to the man in the street realise that BritishAmerican collaboration is a most urgent concern. It is imperative and vital that we should do likewise. Col. Knox said he found everywhere British and American servicemen working, playing, fighting and dying together, and fighting as equals side by side to keep what we have fought for' —individual, liberty and free democratic institutions.
