Manslaughter Charge AGAINST FLYING OFFICER. P.A. TIMARU, Oct. 20. In the Supreme Court, to-day, before Mr Justice Northcroft, Flying Officer James Keith Ward was charged that, at Timaru on September 6, he did an unlawful act, by striking Charles James Keenan, so as to cause his death, thereby committing manslaughter. | Ward pleaded not guilty. Ihe charge arose out of an altercation m the vicinity of the Dominion Hotel on the date mentioned. The jury failed to agree. A fresh trial was ordered for to-morrow.
