PETROL COUPONS
CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 20. The restoration of the full face value of petrol ration coupons for private motorists as from next month is being sought by the North and South Island Motor Unions. The president of the South Island Union. Mr W. R. Carey, anounced at an executive committee meeting this evening that appropriate representations are being'made to the Government A letter from the Unions was being placed in the hands of the Acting-Prime Minister (Hon. D. G. Sullivan). “Motorists feel the time Is overdue for an increase in petrol rations in view of petral made available for elections and the quantity said to be available for other purposes,” said Mr Carey. “Many motorists were getting extremely restive.”
