The marriage of Kathlyn, second daughter of Mrs. Agnes McCarthy and the late Mr. John McCarthy of Cobden and Herbert Maxwell, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Taylor of Christchurch was solemnised at St Patrick’s Church yesterday, morning. Rev. Father V. Flaherty officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Escorted by her uncle, Mr. D. McCarthy, the bride was charmingly attired in a frock of magnolia satin fashioned on classical lines and featuring a long train. Her pleated tulle veil fell from a halo of orange blossom and her bouquet was composed of spring Howers. Her sister, Miss Maty McCarthy, attended as bridesmaid and was frocked in buttercup chiffon velvet. Her nat in halo style was of matching material and her Howers were in shades toning with her frock. Mr. Geoff Pike of Christchurch was best man. At the reception at Herb Moore’s Mrs. McCarthy, mother of the bride received the guests. She was attired in a smart brown costume with hat add lemon accessories to tone. Her shoulder spray was of freesias. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. Taylor, assisted, she wearing a grey costume over which was worn a grey coat. Hat and accessories were l to match and the flowers in her shoulder spray were of violets. For travelling the bride wore a fawn frock over which she wore- a coat of similar shade, her accessories toning with her frock. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Taylor will reside in Christchurch.
