WASHINGTON, J'une 7. According to Mr D. Nelson’s tenth production communique, the United States will reach the maximum war production next year. He revealed that total munitions production during April approached five thousand million dollars, seven per cent, above expectations. Compared with March, heavy bomber output rose 18 per cent., naval fighters fifty per cent., overall ’plane production rose eleven per cent., and ’planes’ armament and related materials eight per cent. Thirdly, the value of warships delivered rose by three per cent., but. the tonnage declined from 186,000 to 157,000 displacement tons. Production of Army and Navy vessels rose three per cent. Fourthly, merchant ship output ro'se eleven per cent., a new maximum of 149 merchantmen of sixteen hundred thousand gross deadweight tons were delivered, a seven per cent, increase compared to March. Fifthly, artillery output was greater than scheduled for any month in 194344.
