[Our Own Correspondent.] REBT’TON, May 15.

Miss J. Stewart, of the teaching] staff of Petone State School is on a visit t 0 Reefton, and is staying with Mrs. W. Hughes. Nurse D. Cleaver has left for Christchurch to spend her annual holidays. Mr. E. Sutherland has left tor Christchurch. Ron Crook, a lad employed at Sutton’s Sawmill, Mai Mai, was brought rnto Reefton Hospital to-day suffering from a severely cut knee. The lad was assisting his father when he slipped on an axe. Mr. and Mrs. N. Wadsworth, of Christchurch, former residents of the district are spending a holiday among friends.

The forty-third annual meeting of the Inangahua' Silver Band will be held on Tuesday, evening in the Band Room. It is doubtful this year if the Band will elect officers owing to depletion in membership.
