RAILWAY MISHAP
LOCO. AND SEVEN WAGGONS DERAILED.
P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 16. A locomotive and seven waggons of the Taumarunui-Stratford mixed train were derailed when they ran into a slip in a cutting between Nihoniho and Toitoi on Saturday night. Though the locomotive finished on its side, the crew escaped unhurt. It is hoped, though it is by o no means certain, that the line will be cleared for the overnight Auckland-New Plymouth express. ■
