(Rec. 8.20.) NEW YORK, May 15 Another programme providing (or maximum employment after the war is being worked out by Sir William. Beveridge, who came to America in order to find out by his own questions the views of people of many different standpoints on the main problems of the post-war world. He gave this information in an interview with the New York “Times.’’ Questioned about the reaction of the, British people to the “cradle to the grave” plan, he said: “It will be accepted after the war.” He estimated that ninety-five per cent, of the British people supported the plan., and added: “Some of my friends believe the figure is more like 95.44 per cent.”
