ELECTION IN AFRICA
DATE ANNOUNCED BY GENERAL SMUTS. (Rec 6.30.) LONDON, May 15. According to a Capetown message, General Smuts announced that the Parliamentary General Election will be held on July 7. Speaking at Pretoria, General Smuts said that the world was on the eve of great events but the Allies’ path to eventual victor” would be a long and uphill one.
