KING’S ANNIVERSARY
MESSAGE. RUGBY, May 13. In a message to the Home Guard, on the occasion of its third anniversary. the King expressed his appreciation of the sevice given and said: “And as the Army masses more and more to the offensive, so will your responsibility for the defence of this country grow heavier. The importance of your role will therefore inevitably continue to increase. The Home Guard has built un a tradition of service and devotion to duty. I am confident the coming year will add to that tradition and the debt my people owe to you.”
