BRUNNER NOTES

Mr. A. Robb has returned from a visit to Christchurch. Mrs. R. Rothera, Mrs. A. Walton and Mr. L. Vv L)n left on Thursday for Christchurch. 1
A very enjoyable evening was spent by the Brunner public in the Wallsend Hall on Wednesday at the send-off to Sergeant-Pilot Ron Lee. Mr. G. Eder, President of the Soldiers Farewell Committee, presented Mr. Lee with the usual wallet and contents, and Mr. J. McNeish, of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, and Mr. K. Creagh, of the League boys wished Mr. Lee good luck. A delightful hand-round supper was served by.the ladies’ committee, and music for dancing was supplied by Miss Watson. Items were rendered by Misses M. Smith and S. McAllum, and R. and E. Bell, and M. Ramsay. A meeting of all interested in the selecting of a candidate for “Miss Russia” in the coming United Nations Fair will be held in the. Wallsend Hall on Sunday evening at 6.30 p.m.
The fourth ‘ shoot of the Brunner W.W.S.A. will be held on the Dobson range on Sunday at 2 p.m. It is hoped that sqme of the older members of the Auxiliary will be taking part.
