SOUTH WESTLAND FEDERATION.
The South Westland Federation of Women’s Institutes held its .annual meeting at Hokitika, there being present delegates from the following branches: — Hokitika, Kumara, Har - hari, Wataroa, RosS, Ruatapu, Koiterangi, Kokatahi, Arahura Valley, Rimu-Woodstock, Kanieri. Arahura •Pa and Three Mile. Mrs. J. Reedy or esided. . ’ The following remit was carried.—That, the meeting strongly protest a°amst the Government’s making excessive nrofits out of -foodstuffs, particularly fruit and vegetables and that it is considered the Internal Marketing Board should be abolished as it had served n 0 useful purpose. The remit was sponsored by the KUmara Institute. , The following officers were elected. -President, Mrs. J. Reedy (Kumara); vice-president, Mrs. W. Gunn (Wafaroa); secretary, Mrs. Gibson (Kumara); treasurer, Mrs. Mclntyre (Hokitika); Press correspondent, Mrs. Cunningham (Three Mile); organiser, Mrs. Mclntyre (Hokitika), with the following delegates: — Mesdames Berry (Harihari), Busch (Ross), Riveily (Ruatapu), Kelly (Kokatahi), ’-faviil Koitera'ngi). Cunningham (Arahura ValleyJ, Rasmussen (Arahura Pa), O. Wells (Rimu), O. Wells (Kanieri).
