KUMAR A NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent < Mrs Lovell of Auckland who has been on .a brief visit to her brother, Mr W. Lakin, returned to Christchurch on Monday. Mrs Marriot of Christchurch, who has been visiting her parents,. Mr and Mrs T. W. Walker, returned to Christchurch on Saturday. ' Mr T. Walker, Jurir.,-has returned from a visit to Christchurch. Miss Mary Benyon and Mr William Benyon have returned from a visit to Nelson. Miss D. Hamer is visiting Timaru. Kumara people would be interested to know who is responsible for the qlosing of the only outward daily mail at 7.15 a.m., instead of 8.30 a.m. as formerly.. It appears that the mail after leaving the Kumara Office at 8 a.m., lies on the Kumara railway platform until after 9 a.m., when it is picked up by the train leaving for Greymouth. Why ? Surely people are entitled, to the hour which is wasted unnecessarily at the Kumara railway station.
