SENATE BILL’S SUDDEN DEATH. (Rec. 10.40) CANBERRA, Feb. 24. The Bill, amending National Security Act, to permit the use of the Australian Militia anywhere under regulation, which was passed by thm Senate last week, had but a brief existence in the- House of Representatives. Within three minutes of the House meeting to-day, the Opposition Leader, Mr. Fadden moved the first reading of the Bill. The Prime Minister, Mr. Curtin, called for a division, and. the Bill was defeated by thirty-four votes to twenty-nine.
