ASHBURTON, Feb. 23. William James Johnstone, 44, carpenter. of Springburn, married with three children, died on the way to hospital as a result of a collision between his motor-car and a truck at Springburn yesterday. Mrs. Johnstone. a child and another woman in the car suffered shock and abrasions and are now in hosoital. Their condition is satisfactory. HAMILTON. Feb. 22. When their boat was washed out to sea at Raglan yesterday, two men, Trevor Hedges, aged 29, Queen s Avenue, Frankton, and Morris McCarthy, aged 50, of Auckland, are presumed to have been drowned, WELLINGTON. Feb. 22. While Mr. Victor Rolands, organiser for the Hotel Workers’ Union was attending to the 1 gas producer or his car at 1 a.m„ between Porirua and Tltahi Bay on Saturday, a lorry struck him.
