ALIENS IN AUSTRALIA
5000 NATURALISED DURING WAR. CANBERRA. Jan. 24. Since the outbreak of the war more than five thousand aliens in Australia have become naturalised. Almost a quarter of these were Axis nationals, and they include more than one thousand Italians, and about 250 Germans. Most of the Germans who have been naturalised, however, were women of British birth, who had acquired German nationality on marrying Germans.
