FREEZING WORKS
MEN TO BE RELEASED i-ROM CAMP.
P.A. WELLINGTON, Nov. 26. The Minister of National Service (Mr McLagan) said to-day that Army authorities were in accordance with a decision of the War Cabinet, and were now carrying out. the survev of men in camp with a view to making experienced freezing hands available to industry for the season. Mr. McLaglan said that we required the maximu’Ti output of meat for overseas destinations. The demand was of such urgency that every available man with freezing works experience had to be allocated. Those who could be directed from other industries were insufficient, hence the War Cabinet’s decision to release qualified men from camp with certain exceptions. The release was arranged by the district manpower officers, to whom experienced men in camp could apply. Mr. McLagan said that a certain amount of inexperienced labour would also oo required, and applications from suitable men in territorial units would be considered. .
