I In a recent casualty list there appeared the name of Hugh Patrick fiyan who was reported as missing. i This young man was a son of Mr Bill - Ryan, Westport, (formerly of Grey--1 mouth), and well known in this, district as a member of the West Coast Rugby League Mangement Com- ; mittee. Mr. C. G. Willis, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Willis, of Reefton, who was injured in a motor-cycle accident ■ some time ago, has recovered sufficiently to enable him to return to his home. . The Reefton public swimming baths were opened on Saturday last, and as the weather has been fine and warm, the baths are popular with the school children. In this issue,, the two Reefton Butcheries announced that owing to staff shortage they are unable to deliver meat to private householders as from Monday next. Persons desirous of obtaining rental houses or wishing, to purchase a house under the Government Housing Scheme, are reminded that they should make immediate application to Mr. V. Newcombe, Secretary . of the Reefton Government' Housing Scheme Committee. This Committee although only formed recently, has already progressed very well in the preparation of its case which is to be presented to the Government. The success or otherwise of their efforts will ( depend main!-- on the number of applications received and it is up to the ' local residents to give the committee all the assistance possible.
