R.A.F. ACTIVITY
RUGBY, Nov. 24. The Air Ministry states that during offensive patrols, to-day, our lighters damaged enemy supply ships m the Channel and attacked railway objectives in Northern. France. None of' our aircraft is missing. Pictures of the latest British seaborne- Spitfire adapted for use from aircraft-carriers are published ’to-day. Large numbers of these Seafires helped to protect the Allied warships, troops and supplies reaching Africa until aerodromes, from which land-based fighters could were cantured. Such Spitfire add materially to the defence of convoys steaming beyond range of s.iorebased fighters. Carrier-borne aircraft hitherto, have been handicapped bv the necessary low landing speed but the Seafire has a special arresting hook.
