RAID IN BURMA
LONDON, Nov. 2z. An Allied joint India communique stated: Japanese railway centre in Mandalay was the target on Friday for the air attack by the largest formation of the American Tenth Air Force heavy bombers yet operated from India. Many tons of bombs were dropped, and large fires were observed in the target area. The bombers completed their mission without observing enemy fighters. Fire from the ground was weak and ineffective; All the planes returned.
