ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Greymouth Highland Pipe Band was held in Perotti Hall .last evening. Mr. OMcLean being in the chair, their beinv a good attendance of members ai°d supporters. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs JB Kent (Patron), J. K. Buchanan and K. Batty. The balance sheet, which, with the annual report was adopted, was as follows: Income. F. 0.5.8. (plus interest) £67 2s Id; members subscriptions £l9 18s; carolling £5l 15s 3d; donations £6 lbs; euchre proceeds £47 17s 6d: out-of-town collections, dance' profits and donations £l3 14s 8d; cash in-hand £l3 ls id.—total £220 4s 7d. Expenditure: Hall rent £39; instructor’s fees £52- payment of bandsmens’ loss 01. work for parades £7 18s; secs, honorarium £8; lighting £4 9s 2d: Beggs ; (Dunedin) band equipment £5 8s oU, Truman’s and S. The Chairman congratulated of-; ficers and members on the healthy ; state of the bands finances, and aiso| on the goodwill which existed be- ■ tween all concerned. Parades had j been slightly fewer, but petrol restrictions had been responsible. ft was hoped better times would soon alleviate the position. He extended his best wishes to Mr. D. K. Fmlaj for regaining his health and hoped; many more useful years of service would be forthcoming; and likewise to Pipe-Sergeant Hr Blackmun, who had suffered injuries earlier in tne year. The following officers were ieelected: — Patron, Mr. J. B. Kent, Pipe-Major, Mr. W. Boyle; DrumMajor, Mr. O. McLean, Pipe-Sergeant, Mr. H. Blackmun, Pipe-Corporal, Mr. M B. C'harteris; Drum-Sergeant, Mr. J. K. Buchanan; Acting D/Sergt. and D/Corporal, Mr. I. Kitchingham. The General Committee and Hall Committee were also re-elected, together with the Trustees,, Messrs W. Boyle and H. Blackmun. It was unanimously resolved that all supnorters general public, ladies and the press be thanked for courtesies extended throughout the year. It was reported that three engagements were in hand for the near future the first being the procession at 1.30 at Saturday’s gymkhana.
