For Printing and Writing NEW CONTROL NOTICE. P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. Lu. “To consolidate the position regarding supplies of paper, it has been found necessary to revoke the Paper (Newsprint) Control Notice, and to replace it by the Paper (Supply and Information) Control Notice, which has just been gazetted,” Mr. D. G. Sullivan stated to-night. The new notice prohibits the sale, delivery or lending,' or other transfer of any newsprint, printing, or writing papers i without the written consent of the Factory Controller. Mr. Sullivan said that the building up of paper stocks by any user in excess of three months supDiv would* not be permitted in tuture. This would not hinder any arrangements for establishing reserve stocks either by the Government or bv wholesale paper merchants. At nresent no such reserve existed in New Zealand. Any consent given prior to the new notice still held good and action was liable to be taken for any offence under the original regulations. Paper not exceeding 13i by inches, or equivalent area, was exempted. The idea of the new not,,ce the Minister added, was to give more comprehensive control of the paper position so that the utmost essential use could be made of all paper.
