Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Railways, announced yesterday that the revenue earned by the Railways Department during the month of May totalled £1,051,313. This was an increase of £136,987 over May or last year. This is the first time in history that the revenue has exceeded £1,000,000 in May. The net revenue for 53 days of the present financial year was £406,651. This exceeds that for the first 54 days of last year by £107,519. —Press Assn.
