R.A.F. PRISONERS
Over 3000 [British Official Wireless] RUGBY, June 16. The Air Ministry stated, in the Commons, that • the total of R.A.F. personnel reported to be prisoners o± war was 3162. He also stated it was not possible to say how many complete R.A.F. units succeeded in getting away from Singapore, but it is known that very considerable bodies of R.A.F. personnel who escaped to Singapore and Java,' are now safe, but a large party was still in Java at the time of its fall.
