GOLDMINING
Big River last month extended No. 7 level intermediate drive IS feet, making 42 feet driven north of the winze. Reef track only was exposed, which is now 3 feet 6 ins. in width, and appears to be consolidating into a stronger ore body. No. 2 level has been repaired. Excavation of the main shaft to No. 8 Level has been completed, the opening ou«. cha.mber set placed in position, and there now remains a small amount of timbering and the sinking or a sump to complete this development wor 1 Alexander Mines last month carried stoning north of No. 2 rise. The ore produced is representative of the entire body as stone was broken on faces at intervals along almost the whole of the ore shoot. The filling operations have been carried nut. The air winch in No. 2 is working well. Drivum south m this r ip e was stopped ow ,no ' ' 0 ptr.pn having cut out. There v.a-> 121 tons of ore hauled from the mi"-' and 5 tons cleaned up around the aerial.
