SECOND ESSEN RAID
ON TUESDAY NIGHT 14 Bombers Lost RAID ON FRANCE. LONDON, June 4. It is officially stated that the scale of Tuesday night’s R'.A.F. raid on the Ruhr was not comparable with that, of the earlier one, but that a strong force of bombers was sent over. Smoke and ground haze made observation difficult.
The Royal) Air Force lost 14 bombers. One enemy aeroplane was shot down.
