RAIDS IN BURMA

CANBERRA, June 3. The Government of Burma, with the approval of the British Government, proposes to establish offices in India, says the Burma Office. It is understood that the Government ot Burma w’ll be located at Simla. . The United States Air Force Headquarters in India announced al] its bombers returned safely after beating off 10 Japanese night fighters in the raid on Rangoon. Tye American raiders also attacked aircraft on the ground and runways, which were heavily damaged, they met no opposition from fighters or anti-aircraft defences. n <i Roval Air Force bombers continued to pound Japanese river transports in Western Burma Enemy steamers and barges on the Cl ‘ 1 win River were attacked hnd J&P9 ‘ ese troops were sent scuttliru, ■ safety. R.A.F. Blenheims bombed the Ma„we aerodrome, yesterday. Several Sticks of bombs were dropped on a
petrol dump, causing a fire. Hudson aircraft bombed and machine-gunn-ed targets over- a wide area. On the Chmdwin River, several barges and steamers were destroyed or damaged.
