The Grey Postal District yesterday exceededl bv £8,803 the total which earlier had been suggested as the possible maximum, the district subscription being £88,805. The amount yesterday paid in throughout the district was £17,418, or almost £5,000 more than on the previous day, whilst in Greymouth the investments doubled those of the day previous, being £11,657 as against £5,674. Hokitika, however, retained the head of the list, with, a total of ovei’ £40,000, exceeding Greymouth by £1,556 and adding yesterday to its figure £3,066. Including the bomber bond investments, the Greymouth postal district has of late raised £150,000. JThe final totals for the Liberty LoarLare as follows:—Hokitika, £40,293; Greymouth, £38,737; Reefton, £3,284; Runanga, £1,120; Kumara, £1,113; Ross, £583; Weheka, £540; Brunnerton, £536; Ikamatua, £520; Waiuta, £510; Wataroa, £500; Blackball, £405; Jackson Bay, £220; Franz Josef Glacier, £170; Kotuku, £100; Harihari, £100; Ahaura, £4O; Otira, £24; Ngahere, i £10; total, £88,805. Grey Technical School INVESTMENT OF £1,500 As at present there seems little likelihood ipf proceeding with the erection of the hall, owing to war conditions; for the Greymouth Technical High School, it has been decided to invest a substantial portion of the accumulated funds in the Liberty Loan as a sound financial, as well as a patriotic investment. Consequently a sum of £1.500 was / transferred yesterday into the War Loan by the Trustees, Messrs E. L. Kehoe and S. Shuttleworth, and the Secretary, Mr. G. M.itchell. of tne Assembly Hall Committee.
