E.P.S. COMPLAINT. P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, June 3. Allegations that the Railway Department and other Government Departments ■ were not co-operating with the Metropolitan E.P.S., were made at a meeting of the Central Committee to-day, by the Chanrman, Mr E. H. Andrews. He said the Post Office had co-operated well. He had written to Wellington about the existence of Departmental E.P.S. units outside the Metropolitan organisation. The reply was that they would co-operate. He hoped the appointment of regional commissioners would help to solve that problem. The Medical Controller, Doctor J. F. Landreth, said his unit was handicapped by lack of information from the Health Department and the Army. Mr Andrews said he hoped the Regional Commissioner would be able to help in that respect too. RENDEZVOUS FOR FORCES. P.A. ■ WELLINGTON, June 3. The taking-over of the large Waldorf Restaurant, in Manners Street, Wellington, as a cafeteria, recreation centre and information bureau for the benefit of members of all Allied forces, was announced last night by the secretary of the National Patriotic Fund Board (Mr. G. A. Hayden). This restaurant was closed down recently because of staff and other difficulties arising out of the war, Mr. Hayden said that the board had obtained the premises on a rental basis, and it was hoped to provide the necessary staff from volunteer labour.
