Private A. J. Fulton has resigned from the Management Committee of the West Coast Rugby Union owing to his having proceeded to an Air Force Training Centre. His resignation was accepted with regret at a meeting of the Committee last evenin, members expressing appreciation of his services. It was decided to write to the Army Rugby Football Club asking for ihe appointment of a new member of the committee.

A London cable states Doctor Gertrude A. Willis, of Auckland, has gained the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons’ Diploma for Anaesthetics, Jwhich is the highest qualification in this Branch for Medicine. Dr. Wilks at present is an anaesthetist in the emergency medical service, and is stationed at Tilbury Hospital. She was formerly a house surgeon at Auckland Hospital.

- The death occurred at New Plymouth last evening of Mrs. Grace Martyn. Deceased, who was a native pf Auckland, lived for many years in Kumara. Her husband predeceased her eight yegrs ago. She leaves two daughters. Mrs. T. Anderson (Blaketown) and Mrs. W. Maloney (New Plymouth), and two sons, Jack (Stratford) and Norman (Palmerston North), The late Mrs. I. Steele (Kumara), was another daughter.

The wedding of Hazel Glen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Glen, Brunnerton, and Seaman-Gunner J. Kreoning, took place at the Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, yesterday. Rev. P. Kirkham officiated. The bride, escorted by Mr. C. E. Russell, was attired in a costume of dove grey, hat and accessories wine colour, and fur capej She was attended by Mrs. C. E. Russell! as matron of honour. Mr. A. Kreoning was best man. During the signing of the register. Mrs. N. Baumgart sang the solo, “I’ll Walk Beside You.” After the reception at the Park Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Kreoning left by plane for Nelson.

The death occurred at Christchurch on Monday of Rev. John Miller.! Aged 79 years, deceased had occupied charges in Scotland, Australia, apd New Zealand. He was a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and chaplain tq the Scottish Society in Christchurch.

Two daughters, one son, grand children, and other members and friends of the family attended the burial of Mrs. E. A. Jordan, mother of the New Zealand High Commissioner, stated a London message. Dr. R. M. Campbell' represented the New Zealand Government. Many members of the staff of New Zealand House were present. Floral tributes Jincluded those from Mr... Fraser and the wew Zealand Government, the staff of New Zealand House, Mr. Jordan’s personal staff, and neighbours, among whom Mrs. Jordan lived for so many years. Rev. H. B. Brewer, Rector of Saint Luke’s, Old Street, London, conducted the service. Mr. Jordan expressed the family’s gratitude for man v messages of sympathy. >
