High Tides. Port of Westport.

Mr. S. A. Wealleans was a passenger by plane tfrom Wellington on Thursday. Mrs. J. Daily, left by plane yesterday for Wellington. The esteem in which the late Mrs. Janet McKinlay was held was evidenced at the funeral on Thursday afternoon, when a large number of friends from Westport and mining districts attended to pay their final tribute of respect to the deceased. The service at the residence of Mr. P. McKinlay, a son of the deceased, ,a.nd at 'the graveside in Orowafti .Qemeterv was taken by the Rev. lA. McNeur. The pall, bearers were Messrs T. Moore, senr., R. Johnson, S. Brown and L. Palatchie. A wealth of beautiful floral tributes was placed on the grave. , The first two trucks of heavy ■aatUle were conveyed 'through the Buller Gorge by rail on Wednesday for the Addington saleyards. Mr. J. M. Robertson, chairman of the Busier District patriotic Committee, acknowledges the following amounts for soldiers’ parcels: J. W. F. Ltd., £6/6-; N. L. Tregurtha £1; T. Broker 6/-; Miss D.
