GREY POWER BOARD
MR. CLAYTON ELECTED CHAIRMAN. Mr. W. Clayton was elected Chairman of the Grey Electric Power 'Board at the annual •'.meeting on Wednesday in succession to Mr. J. B. Kent. His nomination, proposed by Mr. J. Unwin and seconded by Mr. J. Mulcare, was unopposed. The retiring Chairman in his annual report referred to the fact, recorded in the Secretary’s report, that the Board had cremated a new record as regards gross revenue, and that, nothwithstanding increased items of expenditure under almost every heading some £B,OOO would be available to reduce the accumulated .loss brought forward to approximately £12,000. It was to be hoped that within the next two years this item would be compleely liquidated.
The report stated that the increase in revenue wias £2,363.
In the estimates for the coming year the net profit was estimated at £8,325. ■ ,
