REEFTON NOTES

REEFTON, May 21

-The death took place at Reefton Hospital of Mrs Mary Agathus Story, wife of Mr Thomas N. Story, Reetton. The late Mrs Story, who took ill -about a fortnight ago, was a native of Scotland, 57 years of age. Coming to the Dominion 32 years ago she resided here about six year.-. She is survived by her husband and four sons, Thomas, Louis and WiJliam (Reefton) and Edward (in the Forces overseas) and three daughters. The interment will take place to-morrow (Friday) leaving the Church of the Sacred Heart at 9.30 a.rn. for the Suburban Cemetery. The family will receive the sincere condolences of a very wide circle of friends in their bereavement.

Mrs P. Clark, a sister of Mr R. Chandler, is visiting Christchurch. Sergeant Pilot Cyril Hughes and Aircraftsman W. Barnett, who have been spending .leave with their parents have left on return to camp. The funeral of the late Mr James Lawn was largely attended, the members of the Band being present, and Rev. J. Patterson conducted the services. Messrs W. Sara and S. Robinson (bandsmen) and W. Williams and H. Harvey were pallbearers. The Band played the hymn “Abide With Me.”
