CHUNGKING, May 1. Several Japanese columns nave launched a vigorous attack in the southern Honan province. This obviously is__himed to remove a potential Chinese threat against the vital Japanese base in Sinyang. A Chinese spokesman expressed the opinion that the drive might also be aimed to reach, eventually, Chungking.
