MILLERTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent). Mr. and Mrs. P. Page, of Wellington, were visitors to Millerton last week-end. Mrs. F. Foreman, was a recent visitor to Millerton. Private Owen Moore, is spending a week’s leave with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. R. Stewart, of Akaroa, are paying a visit to Mrs. A. Stewart, sent. ' Mrs. J. Tiplady, has returned after being a patient in the Westport Hospital. The Physical Instructor, Mr. A. D. Spencer, visited the Hill on Sunday and attended the Home Guard parade. Mr. R. Harker, has returned after spending a fortnight in a military camp. Mrs. C. Orman and daughter, have returned after visiting Christchurch. Pte. J. Fox, is spending leave at Millerton. Signalman D. Plummer, is also spending leave here. Mrs. A. Wood, was a recent visitor Co Waimangaroa. Mrs. R. Willman, has returned to Seddonville after spending a' holiday here. Th.? Millerton mine continues to work five days weekly. Mrs. H. Milligan and Mr. T. Calder. were the prize-winners at the Patriotic Committee whist tourney this week. At the committee’s dance, Mrs. F. Fox and Mr. B. Watson won the Monte Carlo prize. The Buller Hospital Board’s meeting at Westport was attended by Hon. W. H. Mclntyre, and Messrs R. Jack and T. Burchfield, President and Secretary of the Medical Association.
