The death of Mr. Theodore Fink, prominent, in press and wireless circles, is announced from Melbourne.

The authoress of “Anne of the Green Gables,” Mrs. Ewan McDonald, has died at Ottawa. Her non-de-plume was L. M. Montgomery.

The death has occurred at Newcastle, New /Britain, Canada, of Miss Annie Aitken, a sister of Lord B-eiaverbrook, according to a Montreal message.

The distinguished American National Science Society, Pi Gamma Mu, has awarded its highest distinction, the “Nation Honour Keys,” to General MacArthur, as the “author of imperishable pages of history, human valour, and liberty,” and to Mrs. Chiang Kai-shek, as a “twentieth century stateswoman,” states -a WiashJngton message. The death of Sister Mary Thomas (Stewart), daughter of the late Sergeant and Mary Stewart, Christchurrh, occurred at the Convent de Notre Dame des Missions, Leeston, on Sunday. A sister of deceased is Mrs. J. T. Leonard, of Greymouth. The funeral takes place at Leeston to-day.
