The death of Mr. Ed 7 a s Willoughby a native of WoocstocK, occurred at Wellington on Friday. He was an engineer who had bee associated with the Wellington c-W engineer’s department for 30 years. He leaves a widow and two aau o h ters, both married.

The funeral of Mr. Aileen Kane took place at Karoro Cemetery yesterday morning, there being a laige attendance. rtequiem Mass was celebrated a't St. Patrick s Church by Rev. Father Long, assistea by Rev. Fathers Fogarty (Geraldine), Holohan, and O’Mahoney, and at the graveside the service was conducted by Rev. Father Fogarty, assisted by Rev. Fathers Long, Butler, Browne, O’Mahoney, Holohan, Gregory, and Kelly.

Mr James Roberts was yesterday re-elected President of the Zealand Labour Party for iiis 6th term of office, obtaining a large majority over the other nominees, Dr D. G. McMillan, M.P. and Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, who was elected as Vice-President. Mr H. Moohan was re-elected as secretary. The divisional area representatives elected to the National Executive are Messrs C. W. Boswell, M.P., T. P. The death o f Mrs. Florence Adeline Woods, a native of Greymouth wno- was well known in musical circles has occurred at Dunedin. Deceased was an only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Seabrook, old identities of the West Coast. She received her early education- at the Convent in Greymouth. She afterwards went to Melbourne to. continue her studies at the Conservatorium of Music. On returning to her native town, Mrs. Woods took an active part in its musical life. Going to Dunedin, she was married to Mr. J. D. Woods, and resided there until her death.

The late Mr. Michael Muldoon, whose death occurred at Waiuta on Saturday, had been for fifty-six years a resident of the Inangahua district. A native of County Longford, Eire, he was in his seventy-ninth year. For very many years he had worked for the Public Works Department, and since retiring sixteen years ago he had resided with his friends, the Williams family, at Waiuta. Mr. Muldoon was well known and highly respected, being of a very charitable disposition. He is survived by two brothers, John (Wellhgton) and Bernard (Sydney). Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Reefton, on Monday morning, by the Rev. Father O’Brien, the funeral leaving at 2 p.m. for the Suburban Cemetery, followed by a large representation of friends.

The death occurred yesterday afternoon of one of the oldest members of the commun ty of St. Columbkille’s Convent of Mercy, Hokitika, Sister Mary Columba Ryan. Al native o£-Co urit y Clare, Eire, and in her eighty-iourth year, the late Sister Mary Columba was one of the pioneer members of her Order to come to New Zealand, she having arrived over sixty years ago in Hokit ka, since when she hau, until recent years, been engaged continuously in teaching at the several Convent Schools of the Westland district. By the hundreds of pupils who, during more than half a century’s devoted work, received instruction from her, the late Sister Mary Columba was held in the highest regard, and their sympathy, as well as that of many other fr.ends, will be extended to the Hokitika Convent community in their bereavement.
