i T (Our Own Correspondent’'. A social was held in the Taylorville , Pavilion on Monday night for Driver Ossie Buckman. Miss Watson supplied music for dancing, and Miss U. Fentiman, Mrs Wick land Joe Myers rendered vocal items. Mr Gutberlet (Deputy Mayor) apologised for the Mayor’s absence, and. presented Mr Buckman with the usual wallet and contents. Messrs J. McNelsh, on behalf of the returned soldiers and G. Eder (secretary of the Soldiers’ Farewell Committee) wished the guest good luck. The latter thanked the ladies’ committee for preparing the supper, Miss Watson for providing the music and Brunner Women’s Institute for postponing their annual meeting, to have been held on Monday night. Mr W. Coles, of Ruru, is visiting Mr and Mrs Davies, of Wallsend. .
