Bowling: . During the week-end a visit was paid to the -Westport Returned Soldiers’ Bowling Club’s green by ifie Ngakawau Club, when a Fours’ Competition was plaved. Mr. W. J- Bcrlase, on behalf of the Club, welcomed the visitors and Mr Briggs, President of the Ngakawau Club, repl.ed Following are the results of the competitions, R.S. players mentionec. first: Rogers 23, Henderson 22; Watson 22, Tvler 20; Morgan 24. Adam 22; Trainer 28, Philp 26; Moore 2b. Hill 21. Mr. Briggs expressed tganks to the ladies’ committee tor providing such an enjoyable afternoon tea. The Head Shield was competed for on the Millerton _ green between Fours representative of the Karainea, Seddonville, Ngakawau. Millerton, Granity, Denniston and Wesfport Clubs. At the completion of pi-ay, Westport and Seddonville worteven and it was agreed to playoff on the following day at the Granity green. In the piav off, both teams were even at the 21st. head, and another five heads were decided upon, and as the teams were then again even a further three heads wore agreed upon, at the completion of which Westport were in the lead and thus won the coveted trophy. Jhe personnel of the Fours were: Westport: J. Watson, E. Chapman, E. Skilton. P. Struthers (s.); Seddonville: Gilbert, G. Fleming, T. Quinn, J. Simpson (s). At an executive meeting, Buller Tennis Sub Association decided to hold its Easter Tourney.
